Ik'OBCESTEB BEGIONAL AIBI'OIIT

375 Airport Drive
Worcester, Massachusetts 01602
(508) 799-1741

o provide a safe, secure, and efficient airport for use by the flying pub!ic,
orporate and private aircraft operators, and airline tenants; and to ensure that
the Worcester Regional Airport consistently meets or exceeds all FAA and
Il other regulatory and public safety standards for U.S. airports.

Departmental Overview:

primary elements of any Airport's
mission must be to provide a safe and
secure Airport, and so it remains for
Worcester Regional Airport and Massport.
The Airport successfully completed its
Annual Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) & Massachusetts Aeronautics
Commission (MAC) Certification
inspections with no significant findings.

The Transportation Security Administration
(TSA), the entity that has replaced the FAA
in overseeing security at airports and other
transportation modes, has installed all of the
requisite equipment at the Airport in order to
handle scheduled airline passenger traffic on
a regular basis, even though the Airport is
not presently served by any scheduled
airlines. TSA employees deployed from
other locations travel to Worcester to

provide security services on those occasions
when the Airport serves large, charter
operations. In addition, the Airport Director
and Chief of the Airport ARFF/Security
force completed TSA-mandated certification
training as Airport Security Coordinators.
From a security perspective, the Airport is
ready and prepared to serve scheduled and
chartered airline operations.

There has been much focus on General
Aviation (GA) at the Airport over the past
year. The Airport has co-sponsored (with
the Worcester Area Pilots Association,
WAPA) monthly meetings for area pilots,
including four FAA pilot safety seminar
presentations. In addition, the old GA
parking ramp for based aircraft was replaced
with a brand-new ramp that was paid for by

CITY OF WORCESTER FISCAL 2005 ANNUAL BUDGET

Page i
