Among the largest users
of the city's water are the tax-exempt
organizations. Since each user in the
City is charged the same rate per hundred
cubic feet (ccf) used, the revenues
collected to support Ire water utility

operations shi~ts some of the burden
away t~om the residential nse~ to the tax
exempt institutions in the ciD'. The water
user fee for in-city users is recommended
to be $2.38 per hundred cubic feet (ccf)
~br fiscal 2005, an increase of $.18 per
ccf, or 8.2%, above the approved fiscal
2004 rate. The water rate for out-of-
town users will increase $.09 or 2.9% to
$3.15 per hundred cubic feet (cc~). This
rate is 32.4% greater than the in-city rate.

CITY OF WORCESTER FISCAL 2005 ANNUAL BUDGET

Page
